Cowboy Junkies
Cowboy Junkies recorded live at the Riviera Theater in Chicago, IL. I used to wash
dishes in the basement of the Riv when I worked for a catering company. Nothing shatters the illusion of celebrity
like saying 'hi' to Dave Grohl from Nirvana/Foo Fighters as he's peeing in the urinal and I'm going to spill soup
down the toilet. True story. He said 'hi' first. I tend not to bother people when they are peeing.
This show was recorded by 93.1 WXRT and broadcast on their Sunday night concert. I recorded it staight to CD and then split and mastered it from there. I missed a couple seconds of "Little White Lies" as the CD burner revved up. I wish I could brag about a reciever but I'm using a cheap stereo as my receiver because it has a turntable. All my money, after beer, goes to my computer.
I'll be posting a few songs every couple days until the end. When this is done I'll start posting some more concert tracks by other artists.

Check it every week, he rotates tracks every week.

At the February 4, 2000 show they didn't even play Sweet Jane or Blue
Moon, much less encore with them.
Good for them. I wonder if it has anything to do with them not being with Geffen Records anymore.
I mean, I love those two songs and I never tire of them, but I tire of bands putting their hits as encores. It's
commercialism pure and simple. I also hate it when people go to shows of bands that they only know one or two
songs to and then they proceed to yell out requests for those one or two songs every ten minutes.
To quote, perhaps incorrectly, the Great Muntz, " I didn't think he'd play Moon River, but then, bam, second encore!"
